Cerebral palsy linked with repeat steroids among premature infants

The risk of cerebral palsy may increase with repeated courses of a drug, betamethasone, used for improving the survival of unborn premature babies.

Multiple doses of steroids given to infants could lead to cerebral palsy

The same corticosteroid that could help decrease the mortality rate among infants could also cause cerebral palsy.
