Former tribe police officer pleaded guilty Jimmy Russell Hamm II, also known as “Rusty” Hamm, pleaded guilty of charges of steroid possession with intent to sell and distribute.

Last month, the former Creek Nation Lighthorse division police officer was arraigned of the said charges. He conspired with a former reserved deputy sheriff for McIntosh County, Dusty Lee Burns.

According to Sheldon J. Sperling, US attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Hamm purchased steroids for personal use. He eventually ventured into selling and distributing anabolic steroids while still on duty at the Creek Nation Lighthorse division police department.

Charges against the two stemmed from investigations conducted by two agencies, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The co-defendants formerly pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Judge Kimberly E. West. They were temporarily released under the supervision of the US Probation Office.

Both defendants face imprisonment of not more than five years and a fine of $250,000 for possession with intent to distribute steroids.

In a separate court action, Booby Dewayne Brown of Vian was also accused of possession with intent to sell to persons below the age of 21 in or near schools.

Brown, however, pleaded not guilty
